Section 142 - Refusing to answer public officer authorized to question.

Whoever, being legally bound to answer questions put to him on a subject by a public officer in the exercise of the lawful powers of the public officer, refuses to answer a question, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to forty naira or with both.
